Guardians of Beyond: Witchville Collector's Edition Review

So I’m just putting the finishing touches on my costume for the big Halloween party, and I’m sooooo excited. I know it’s a retro party, so in perfect Morgan style, I’m going as Marion Crane… you know… the woman who was stabbed to death in the shower in the movie Psycho…. Ok, remember the Karate Kid… the first one… where Daniel went to the party in the shower costume… well that’s basically my costume, but I have blood splattered all over it with me in the middle and a fake butcher knife!!! It’s awesome! And no, I’m not naked under there… I’m fully dressed in comfortable clothes! No uncomfortable tights for me this year! I can’t wait! Anne’s going to be horrified!

It’s awesome! And no, I’m not naked under there… I’m fully dressed in comfortable clothes! No uncomfortable tights for me this year! I can’t wait! Anne’s going to be horrified! Anyways, in honor of the upcoming festivities, I dove right into the first scary game I came across, and boy is it a good one! I’m playing Guardians of Beyond: Witchville, and it’s so awesome! It’s perfect for this time of year! It’s creepy, scary, and fun to play! The sounds on their own will give you shivers! They have this whispering that goes on, and it’s creeping me out to no end! The plot of the story is that you are junior agent Alice of the Guardians of Beyond, and you’re a medium… so you can talk to dead people. You are sent to Witchville because people keep disappearing. Another agent was sent there before you, Ethan, and he calls you to ask for your help, but by the time you get there, he’s disappeared too! Before you even get to Witchville, your car is sent careening over a bridge as what we can only assume is an evil spirit tries to stop you from coming to help the people of the town. You have to use your wits and what’s around you to progress through the game in a combination of challenging puzzles, hidden object games, and plot twists. I’m playing on the casual mode, but there are two other modes you can play on if you want a real challenge. The hidden object games aren’t too hard, and there didn’t seem to be a penalty for frustrated clicks when I couldn’t find anything. One thing I did really like about the hint button was that when you were stuck on what to do next, you just click the hint button and they told you the steps to progress to the next spot… Anyhow, it’s a really fun game and perfect for a night when you feel like getting into the Halloween spirit and giving yourself a good scare! And now, if you’ll excuse me… I have to go back and save Witchville before my time runs out and I disappear too! Happy Halloween everyone!
