Hello! I've been pretty busy here on the ranch. Dad had me out checking fences and making sure none of the cattle had strayed or gotten hurt. While I would rather have been playing this game, at least I got to see some beautiful countryside, aside from that cow smell, and on horseback no less! After a nice, hot, sweaty, smelly ride at least I could jump in the lake, literally, with Jasper and Xavier to cool off.
On another note, I really have no idea what is up with my boyfriend Curtis. He's acting, well, distant. He was suppose to fly out and visit me this summer, but he's come up with some lame excuse about not being able to get off from his summer job. And that's not all. I got a message from Lucy saying she really needs to talk to me, it sounded serious. I really have no idea what's going on and I'm a little worried. At least I had this game to take my mind off things.
Now, about the game. I wrote a guide for Nightmare Realm by Lesta Film & Games. This game is absolutely sensational! It reminded me a little bit of those games I played recently, the Drawn series, only with hidden object scenes. Like Drawn, the game centers around a little girl and drawings. While you don't actually enter the paintings, you do enter realms of the little girls imagination. I thought this game was supposed to be "dark", but it was nothing like that at all. Yes, it has a dark plot, but it didn't have a dark feel like some games I've played in the past - think Phantasmat for instance.
The storyline was unique and I really enjoyed it. The graphics were, in a word, stunning! They are some of the most beautiful graphics I've encountered in a game. I felt totally immersed in the world and marveled at the beauty, or lack thereof, depending on the part of the game. I couldn't wait to move to a new scene to see what was in store for me. The puzzles were mostly easy or moderate, with two very difficult puzzles that I provided step by step solutions for. The hidden object areas were moderate and it wasn't always obvious what you needed to interact with in order to find some of the hidden objects. This made the game just that much more challenging and fun. Logically, most every twist and turn made sense. There really wasn't any head scratching wondering where I needed to go next in order to continue. I only have one complaint. This game was too short, I wanted more!
I wrote the guide based on the Collector's Edition, but did not include things relevant only to the Collector's Edition. I do this for players who will be purchasing the regular edition and be using this guide. I have to say, you may need it! This is not an easy game, but it's a really fun one that I say do not miss! You will not be disappointed. Oh, and keep a look out for the squirrel-cat. Yes, I said squirrel-cat. Trust me, it's adorable and I want one!
